Having been voted World’s Best Safari Outfitter by Travel+Leisure magazine a record nine times, we created this itinerary to honour the magazine and its readers. This all-star safari includes nights at some of Africa’s best accommodations, also consistently recognised by the magazine.
It begins with four in-depth days in the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town. A visit up Table Mountain is a must; stroll down the charmingly colourful Malay Quarter and try your hand at wine tasting at South Africa’s finest vineyards.
Out of the city and into the bush, a splendid four-night stay at one of Singita’s luxury hideaways awaits, offering an unrivalled quintessentially African experience. Days will be spent on wildlife excursions exploring this predator-rich Kruger National Park.
This trip concludes with two days of awe-striking views and rain forest trail walking at the world’s most stupendous waterfall, Victoria Falls, where its mist can be seen from your veranda at the Royal Livingstone Hotel.
You stay four-nights at the One&Only Cape Town resort. The hotel is set on the famous V&A Waterfront in the shadow of Table Mountain; which one day you will summit via the Aerial Cableway to experience the breathtaking views of the city. You will also wander the surrounding Winelands, stroll the old streets of Simon’s Town and visit the Cape of Good Hope to see the penguins, zebras and ostriches.
SINGITA KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
A flight to the Kruger leads you onto your four-night safari at the stunning Singita lodges. The Singita lodges have their own 33,000-acre concession that is home to a species-rich wildlife population. All of which you will get to observe leisurely on your wonderfully extended stay here. It is a perfect area to set your eyes on the Big Five – the big cats are here in abundance, so keep your eyes out for that shy leopard.
Victoria Falls is arugably the greatest curtain of water on Earth. Your next two nights are spent at the fabulous Royal Livingstone Hotel where you can explore the Falls that are conveniently right on your doorstep. Activities include a cruise on the Zambezi River, watching the elephants and giraffes as well as a helicopter ride over the Falls on the ‘Flight of Angels’.
As the itinerary draws to an end you are flown back to South Africa’s capital where a day room at the InterContinental at Johannesburg’s airport waits for you. Make the most of a quick rest before your flight home.
Most memorable was the attention to detail, the personal service and thoughtful gifts from our hosts Felix & Jane Pinto. This is what wins awards as well as loyal clients. I can honestly say that this was the finest tour my husband and I have ever taken.
