Botswana’s wilderness is both expansive and timeless hence why we have designed this nine-night Botswana adventure. The safari takes us to three unique locations along the dreamy Okavango Delta – the intimate and beautifully imagined Kadizora Camp, the lush and Serene Gomoti Plains Camp, and the wonderful Machaba Camp in the Moremi Wildlife Reserve.

The 1,000 mile Okavango Delta river gives up on its search for an outlook to the sea and so has become a habitat for some of Africa’s most diverse wildlife. Search for its local residents along the many waterways and plains by dug out canoes, motorcrafts and 4-wheel drive vehicles.

Heading east, the final stop is the phenomenal Victoria Falls where you have the chance to get up, close and personal to the greatest curtain of water on earth with a helicopter ride and spend lazy evenings on river cruises down the mighty Zambezi River.

Your Southern African experience begins, with a one night stay at the luxurious Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa. This retreat, situated in the suburbs of Johannesburg, is where Neslon Mandela finished writing his Autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom. You will spend the evening dining at the home of Micato family friends which is the perfect way to set you up for your epic adventure.

You fly to Botswana where your base for the next two nights is the secluded Kadizora Camp. Kadizora is notable for its variety of game viewing experiences – canoeing in the Delta’s serene waterways; guided walking safaris and 4-wheel drive excursions. You even have the opportunity to float above the waterways and floodplains in a hot air balloon.

A short flight takes you to Gomoti Plains Camp – because of its untroubled remoteness, much wildlife filming and research has been done here of lions, elephants, buffalo and especially of the large pack of African wild dogs in the area. Your tented suite is set on raised wooden decks and decorated to mirror the water and land themes that define the exquisite Okavango Delta.

Another short flight takes you north of the Khwai River where you still stay at the wonderful Machaba Camp. Designed in classic 1950s safari style, it is so well suited to its surroundings that animals wander down to the river insouciantly, allowing you to observe them from the comforts of your tent. Moremi also gives you the chance to see the huge African night sky – a wonder in itself.

It’s then off to visit Victoria Falls; where you will stay at the fabulous Royal Livingstone Hotel for two nights. The hotel is within strolling distance of the stunning waterfall. Become well acquainted with Livingstone over the next two days – cruise on the Zambezi River, enjoy lazy sundowners and if you are feeling up for it; you can take the ‘Flight of Angels’ helicopter ride to view this wonder from above.

On your final day you will fly from Livingstone to Johannesburg where a day room at the InterContinental awaits you – you might even have time to fit in a last minute massage at the spa.

Whatever was promised in the brochure was far surpassed in our actual expereinces. There is no way we can sufficiently praise our Safari Director and drives – far and away the most knowledgeable, intelligent, and caring we have ever encountered.
