Micato Safaris UK are based in Chiswick, London. Our small team is made up of luxury travel experts Zillah Bell, Georgie Knox and Charlie Brooksbank. It’s near impossible to condense our experiences into ‘Top 3’ as each day with Micato just gets better and better.

Zillah’s Micato highlights include sleeping under the African stars at Loisaba Star Bed Camp in Laikipa; watching the sunrise over the momentous Taj Mahal in Agra and visit to the Harambee Centre in Nairobi.  Her favourite animal is a leopard although much to Charlie’s amusement she’s not yet been successful to see one in the wild…

Charlie trained his eye to spot six leopard in one game drive during a stay at the incredible Singita South Africa properties – and claims this, plus the hot air balloon experience in the Maasai Mara and tracking the majestic gorillas of Virunga, are among his favourite Micato memories.

Georgie especially enjoyed learning all about the astounding culture of the Maasai tribes, and spying on the elephants of Samburu from the comforts of her own tented suite. Being very much a morning person, Georgie claims there is nothing greater in life than waking up early to watch the animals go about their morning business as the sun rises over the plains of the Mara.

We have been Micato Safaris official UK representatives since 2015 and with our exceptional level of service we promise to make sure we exceed all your expectations. We are on hand to make your travel dreams become an unforgettable reality.

When you travel with Micato you are travelling with more than just a company – you’re travelling with the Pinto family.

Over 50 years ago Micato Safaris in Africa was founded by Felix and Jane Pinto.  From the beginning they knew Micato would be unique. The Pintos are third generation Africans, who began and built Micato Safaris in the well-known, well-loved lands of Africa. Felix was one of Kenya’s most highly-regarded farmers and Jane was an elite international table tennis player.

The Pintos raised their three children on a farm in Kenya, quite close to Karen Blixen’s famous coffee plantation, seven or eight miles from the Ngong Hills. Nowadays they reside just outside Nairobi in beautiful Lavington House, where they entertain all Micato visitors who pass through the Kenyan capital city on their safaris.

Managing Director of Micato Safaris and son to Felix and Jane – Dennis Pinto – paired up with Cecil Haidar Ali to create Micato’s India over 25 years ago.  India has been an integral part of the Pinto family for centuries as Dennis’ grandparents immigrated to Kenya from Goa during the British Raj.  Micato’s roots in India are deep.

Despite Micato Safaris now being one of the world’s premier travel companies – it still remains a family affair.  And they invite you to join them in their residential home in Africa, and their ancestral home in India, for an adventure that will surpass your most eager dream.

The Pinto family has unrivaled experience and an incredible network of personal connections at the highest levels… I know many of the best and well-informed travel agents in the nation, and they pretty much unanimously swear by Micato… There is no one else I would consider using to plan a trip to Africa.
